Geocaching and water towers

A few months ago, I searched Google for water towers looking for my blog and specific town water tower pictures for a presentation I was doing. I never found my blog, but Google now has a search function specifically for blogs and when you search that I am first!

Anyway, when I Googled water towers I found lots of cool links. Some of which I have put in my favorite links to the right. I contacted a gentleman that geocaches to see if he had a picture of a Charlotte water tower for my presentation. He didn't but did send me some links to other cool water tower pictures that he took while doing an inventory of benchmarks and aerial intersection points for the National Geodetic Survey.

I am sorry it took me so long to get these up on my blog.

That one is a "school tank". Rural school buildings used these to provide a constant source of water during the day. At night, a well refills the tank.
