12/04-Driving from Columbia, MO to Raleigh, NC I noticed water towers in the distance, some from miles away. Most often they showed the town's name so you would know where you were without the map. I wish I started to take pictures on that trip, but the idea of logging H2O towers was only in its infancy. This blog came almost a year later when I realized I really enjoy taking the back road to find what neat H2O towers exist. Feel free to post a link or story about your town's local H2O tower.

Trip East to See Family - July 20-23, 2006
We started by taking the dogs to the dog park to get them tired before our 5 hour trip. We stopped to get this picture before heading out of town and providing Q-Tip a place to pee.
Nash Community College. Nash County. NC.
We tired the dogs out, however, we gave them a drink after running around and had to stop at this water tower to let Q-Tip go to the bathroom again. But with his little bladder (and all the excitement of riding in the car) he had to go to the bathroom again an hour later but we didn't know this until he went in the car.
Elizabeth City State University. Elizabeth City. NC.
Then Millie threw up in the car outside of Elizabeth City. Fun times!
Southern Shores. NC.
Well, we finally made it to the outer banks and left the dogs at the doggie motel in Southern Shores.
Duck. NC.
We were headed to Corolla to meet family who had rented a beach house and went through Duck on our way.
Ocean Sands. NC.
Then we hit Ocean Sands. I am not sure if this is a town or just a strip mall community.
Currituck County. NC.
The beaches of Currituck were great. We had perfect weather, no flies and spent many hours in the sun. Next time, we will have to bring the dogs because that County allows them on the beach all year long.
The family had a great time driving on the roadless beach in our rented jeeps.
We got to see the wild horses.
We stopped at the interesting "museum" found at Corova Beach.
Grandy. NC.
Then on the way back home we stopped in Grandy - for gas and to let Q-Tip take a pottie break.
We stopped and had lunch with the Davis' and Blindt's along the Pasquotank River. Much to my surprise we got to look over the water at a very pretty checkered water tower.
Elizabeth City. NC.
This water tower belongs to the US Coast Guard station there.
Also on our way home we stopped to see Janice and the kids. Boy have they grown up.

Great pics, Kel! You are becoming a professional photographer! I love the one with Q-Tip in the air.
Looks like a fun trip after all the peeing and puking problems. Miss you!
Finally! And how dare you put quotes around the word "museum"...I'm sending her a link to your site so she can blast you personally.
