Scaffolding

Topsail Beach. NC.

Jason found this picture that was recently in the Pender Chronicle.

The caption read "HUNDREDS OF SCAFFOLDING SECTIONS surround the water tank at Topsail Beach to aid workers in restoration. Painting is scheduled to be completed by the end of February. (Staff photo by Gary Weaver)"

It reminded me of a trip I took to Washington DC years ago when the Washington Monument had scaffolding all over it.

The first of many Wisconsin Water Tower Pics

Milwaukee. WI.

Owen's buddy, Darin, from work has taken a job in Madison, WI. Here is the first WI submission from he and Susan.

I don't know how they plan to top this one.

Make sure to read the info to the left. This standpipe was operating until 1963. Impressive!

Too bad the sky looks overcast in this picture. But what can you expect from WI? Do you think we will ever get Owen to visit Darin there? Maybe we should start placing bets.

Work Trip #14 - Browns Summit - January 31, 2007

Greensboro. NC.

I headed out of town this Wednesday for Greensboro and then planned to go onto Asheville. However the weather didn't cooperate and I had to cut my trip short. In preparing for a snowy trip back home I stopped at this state fueling station to fill my car. I talked with some of the DMV guys and they said this water tower was actually filled with a salt water solution (brine) that they were putting on the roads as a pre-treatment.

There was another similar looking water tower across the street at the Guilford Correctional Institution.

Browns Summit. NC.

With the beautiful sky in this picture of the Browns Summit Middle School it is hard to believe we had snow on the ground the next day.
