Historic Raleigh Water Tower

Raleigh. NC.

My friend Rob told me about this historic water tower in downtown Raleigh. The tank was removed from the top of it in 1924 and 4 floors were built in the tower. An architectual firm has offices in it now.

Read this for its history.

A beautiful day in Durham

Durham. NC.

Can you find the old water tower on top of this tobacco building in Durham? I read on the Internet that these old towers used to be really common but more and more are getting torn down.

Down the street is this water tower that has another collection chamber at the bottom. I have been told this area of Durham is called West Village.

"The family" headed to Duke Forest for a nice hike today since we were all off work for the Martin Luther King Junior holiday.

Where is the Elkhorn that I grew up in

Elkhorn. NE.

Here is a new picture of the Elkhorn water tower. Look at all the growth that is happening. I heard Omaha was trying to annex them. My friend Casey, who's parents still live in Elkhorn, took this picture for me. I decided to put this one on my blog because my nephew Connor loves big tractors like this.

Pauls got the whole world in his hands, well at least a water tower

Columbia College. Columbia. MO.

Columbia MO is where my sister (Allison) and brother-in-law (Paul) lived until 6 months ago when they moved to Louisiana for my brother-in-law's job. While at their house in LA for Christmas, Allison found this "old" picture of Paul and the water tower where he used to teach. Now he has Adam's fire truck in his hands.

Another Wake County Water Tower (and dog photo)

Wake County Water Tower #7

Zebulon. NC.

I saw this water tower last week as I drove around the County to put decals on our old "igloo" recycling containers because they will soon be removed. The picture below is of an "igloo".

These poor fiberglass containers need a second life after we remove them as recycling containers. Any ideas? We have talked with people about using them as small animal houses. Do you think Millie would stay inside one?
